Seeker

Passion, ecstasy, bliss.
Happiness felt behind closed eyes.
The contents of a single kiss
made me soar to unknown skies.

But Morpheus is a cruel god,
and what he gives he takes away.
He showed me love beyond compare,
then threw me outcast, to the day.

Dreamers share dreams, or so it's said,
and there I met my partner in soul.
I lost her to the light of day
Her rescue is my lifetime's goal.

Pain is where I live today,
I plead to the world with silent cries,
for how can I know what dreams reside
behind someone else's eyes?

Is this her, walking up to me?
No, she walks on by.
When we meet, will she speak to me?

Will I know to try?
