I recently bought a copy of Flash 5 and I've been thinking about potential subtle uses of flash on this site and others (subtle? Flash?). Anyhow, check out Microsoft's Xbox site. sure there's the glossy hoggish flash in the center of the page, but check out the sidebar navigation...

Note: I'm not saying this is a good thing, just an interesting thing. At least the technology is mapped reasonably well to the intended viewing audience. It's not exactly the sory of thing AOL or Yahoo should do...
